Blizzard Entertainment started their award-winning series in 1998 with the first release of their thrilling strategy game; Starcraft. Starcraft is based in the 26th century in a different part of The Milky Way where 3 major races are battling it out to claim all the planets. The Terran, Protoss and Zerg races have many different units and abilities than each other. In the return of Starcraft 2 in 2010 the story line has evolved from just fending off the zerg and protoss armies in the original Starcraft. In Starcraft 2 you are a Terran rebel named Jim Raynor that is against the rising power of the Dominion that is run by Mengsk. The Dominion controls the rest of the Terran race(which are humans) except for Raynor and his band of rebels. Most of the campaign you and your rebels defeat different parts of the Dominion and free civilians. Aside from the campaign though Starcraft 2 has had a online aspect added to it along with a brand new map editor to help design more complex maps. There are now custom games designed by other Starcraft players and not by Blizzard Entertainment to give players new game modes and always new games and styles of games to play. Now there are Tug of War, Tower Defense, RPG, Survival and many more game types! Also there are new challenge modes for offline play which test your strategy and knowledge of unit balance to fight your way through certain obstacles with only limited units. I rate this game a 4.5/5 because of its genius ideas and the many advances in online game play and more game modes to keep players interested and for the intensity of battle! I highly recommend this game to anyone who enjoys battle strategy and intense fighting and battles. Also as a last note new expansions for the game will be released later in 2012 for the Heart of the Swarm Expansion and TBA for the expansion after that.
