Hyrbid Cars

Are you sick and tired of spending lots of money on gas? Would you like to help the environment? Then you should consider getting a hybrid car. Lots of money is spent these days on gas, it is something that nobody likes to do. Hybrid cars can save you lots of money on gas while getting more mileage at the same time. Believe it or not they can also be very reliable. A hybrid car is a great solution to reduce your carbon footprint and save money. This is why Hybrid Cars are better than average cars.
One of the main reasons why people buy hybrid cars is because they are more environmentally friendly. Hybrids have two engines, a gasoline engine and an electric engine. The two engines work together to waste less gas over time. A huge thing of hybrids is how it wastes almost none of its energy. Not only that, it also reuses the unused energy and uses it again with the engine and most parts of the car, including a new thing for hybrids called regenerative breaking (www.wikipedia.org). “Because of the lower fuel consumption the hybrids have reduced emissions of carbon dioxide, which is one of the major greenhouse gases implicated to climate change”, (www.livestrong.com). The reduced need for power wastes less oil and other natural substances that are running out and are critical to powering cars. It reduces the power by using the electric engine at low speeds and helping the gasoline engine with power at higher speeds. The current generation of hybrid cars also is environmentally friendly by using nickel metal hydride batteries, as average cars use lead-acid batteries, the heavy metal is a major pollutant (www.livestrong.com). The nickel batteries can also be fully recycled whereas metals such as lead cannot.
Another main reason why people buy hybrids is because they save lots of money. Gas is very costly but it is vital to keep a car going. Hybrids get you a lot of more miles per gallon example, the combined average of miles per gallon for a 2012 Honda civic is 32 mpg and a 2012 Toyota Prius hybrid gets you a combined average of 49.5 miles per gallon (www.fueleconomy.gov & www.wikipedia.org).  That means the hybrid gets you about 65% more mileage than the average car. Hybrids don’t only get you farther with the gas; they also make the gas cheaper by filling up your gas tank for a lower price. With the Toyota Prius you only spend an average of $100 per month, the average Toyota Prius owner will fill up their car about twice a month making their gas bill only $50 each time for every two weeks (www.wikipedia.org). Another way to save money with a hybrid is to use a plug in hybrid, such as the Toyota Prius. You can plug in a hybrid to charge the electric motor so that it has extra power and helps the gasoline motor even more, you might even be able to get even more mileage if you use a plug in hybrid than the normal hybrid, the plug in hybrid also gives power to the other things in the car like air conditioning and GPS so that the gasoline does not have to waste energy to power the extra things in the car (www.wikipedia.org).
The last main reason why people buy hybrids is because of the performance. Believe it or not but some Vancouver Cab companies use all Toyota Prius’ because of how reliable they are. They tested a 2005 Prius that had just over 1 000 000 kilometers and it worked great (www.ctvbc.ctv.ca)! Most parts of the car have not yet been replaced and with this car they only need to replace the brakes every 18 months whereas on a Toyota Corona they need to replace the breaks every 7-8 weeks. The Cab companies of Vancouver say they love their Prius’; the fuel saving alone pays off for the car every 3 years (www.ctvbc.ctv.ca)! Some buyers are worried that the hybrid battery might need to be replaced multiple times but the car proves wrong again, only needing the battery to be replaced once when the car reached 700 000 kilometers, the cab companies use the car a lot more than the average driver so it would take about 35 years for an average driver to need their hybrid battery to be replaced, which means the battery lasts about as long as the life of the car (www.ctvbc.ctv.ca).
Whether you are looking for a cheap car, a high performance car, a reliable car, an environmentally friendly car, or a car that saves you money hybrids have it all. There are so many cars to choose from but getting a hybrid will benefit you in so many ways. They don’t just save you money and help the environment; they are also very reliable and work very well with getting things done! There are a lot of different types of hybrids to fit your design and style so that you can have a wide variety of choice to fit your needs and taste. With all of the good things that hybrids have to offer why would you not get a hybrid? This is why Hybrid Cars are better than average cars.
